Duncan is a child of a single mother who is poor and due to abject poverty, she started manufacturing local alcohol brew to upkeep her three children. It was known that his mother manufactures local brew, and she was arrested and convicted in a court of law. After conviction of his mother Duncan together with his other two siblings, Faith and Maxwell, proceeded to the streets of Kilgoris in Narok County in search of food. They were rescued by the police and were taken to court whereby they were committed to MLCM for care and custody.
