Maxwell is a child of a single mother who is poor, and due to abject poverty, she started manufacturing local alcohol brew to support her three children. It was known that his mother manufactures a local brew; she was arrested and convicted in a court of law. After the conviction of his mother, Maxwell, together with his other two siblings, Duncan and Faith, proceeded to the streets of Kilgoris in Narok County in search of food. They were rescued by the police and were taken to court, where they were committed to MLCM for care and custody.
